Hi there! So, my birthday is coming up and this year I was trying to figure out what to do. With everything, and I mean everything going on in the world right now, and especially the U.S. I have been trying to find my voice, especially on social media and nothing has really felt right. I kept trying to figure out if I could take part in the Baker's Against Racism movement(?), but felt weird about it since I am just an at home baker. Any who, I came up with the idea to do a birthday bake sale for charity, put it out there on Instagram to see what people thought and enough people said "Yas!" so let's do this! Here's the scoop:

6" - 3 Layer Cake: Delivery/Pickup ONLY (at least a $30 donation)
- Vanilla Cake with Vanilla Buttercream & Sprinkles (can be colored layers if desired)
- Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting
I am going to prep and bake these August 1 & 2, for delivery and shipping on Monday, August 3, so that you all can have a birthday treat with me...well at least a birthday week treat. (That being said if there are a lot of requests, which I hope there are, some may have to be baked on my birthday and shipped out August 4.)
A few of my favorite charities:
- Share Our Strength, No Kid Hungry (An organization I have been volunteering with for years!)
- Be the Bridge (to Racial Unity) (If you don't follow the founder of this organization, Latasha Morrison, I highly recommend.)
- World Central Kitchen (José Andrés is truly a great human, doing great things around the world)
- NextUp, RVA (Providing Richmond middle school students with opportunities to continue their learning beyond the school day.)
How to order: (IMPORTANT: Orders must be in by Thursday, July 30, so I can prep!)
1. First, check out the options above, and figure out what you want! (Please no mixing and matching flavors.) However, if you are doing a $20+ donation and want two types of cookies/brownies/blondies that I can do!
2. Pick your favorite charity or one of mine (also see above), and donate! (Please note donation minimums. Of course, I would be SO extra excited if you wanted to donate more...consider it a birthday present to me.😀)
3. Either forward your donation confirmation email or a screen shot of it to whiskingthroughlife@gmail.com. Also include the following in the email:
- What baked good(s) you want.
- If you are local to Richmond: Whether you would like me to deliver the baked treats or if you want to pick them up. If delivering, please include your address.
- If you are outside of Richmond: Your mailing full address.
Notes: I am covering the cost of ingredients and shipping in the U.S., all you have to do is donate! If you are going to be out of town and want these shipped or picked up at a later date, please just let me know. I am happy to work with you!
Legal note: These are going to be made in my home kitchen, and none of this is for profit. I will do a thorough cleaning of the kitchen before baking, and will wear a mask while baking, packaging, cleaning, etc.
